De Nova is always interested in increasing its Network of practitioners with competent, motivated and like-minded individuals. In you are
interested in joining our network and if you fit the above mentioned description, please read on....
We believe a flexible model where highly competent individualist people who can operate on their own
within the boundaries of a virtual organisation is the appropriate business model for the global business world
as it stands today. We therefore make  use of an extensive network of competent practitioners who we
deploy on a case-by-case basis. In this way we are able still provide our clients with the appropriate skills
whilst keeping our overheads and therefore our consulting fees reasonably low.

Every individual possesses networks (formal, informal, business, private, etc). This network is limited to people
that this individual knows. As an independent consultant, you will receive work requests from this network or
from people who have been referred to you via people in this network. When the network is small, it will be
more difficult as a consultant to find a client who is looking for the specific services and skills that you provide.
Similarly, it will be equally difficult for clients to find a suitable consultant to meet their skills requirement. The
larger the network, the better we (being the entire client and consultant network) will be able to meet the
exact resourcing requirements of our clients.
Our consulting model – a networking approach
Why should consultants join the De Nova network?
  • Win-Win: A key De Nova principle is Win-Win. We want to build strong and sustainable relationships and believe that no relationship can
be sustained if it is not beneficial for all parties involved. In our case this comprises both our clients, as well as all practitioners who are
part of our De Nova Network.

For our clients, we endeavour to provide high-quality consulting services at a reasonable price. For our associate practitioners, we want
    to provide:

  • A vastly greater spectrum of opportunities than an individual consultant would be exposed to, if working on his/her own.
  • More opportunity to find a better fit between client requirements and your personal project preference and requirements (as there
    are more options).
  • Growth and development focus: De Nova believes
that development is a key building block to achieve
sustainable results. This comprises the development of
all people we work with, including our clients and our
consulting associates. Besides our commitment to
ongoing on-the job coaching and development, De
Nova also has a separate training budget for each of its
consultants. The training budget reserved for a
consultant is a percentage of the revenue that De
Nova collects for him/her. De Nova is the sole
contributor to this fund and consultants can choose
the training they want to attend.
How do consultants join the De Nova Network?
  • Step 1 – Join our Pool of Practitioners

This entails one or more interview(s)  with our directors to get to know one
another and assess the mutual fit. Typically this will cover aspects such as your
focus areas, experience and requirements, as well as any information that you
require from De Nova about its clients and its operations. The consultant’s
details will be entered on our database once we have established a sufficient fit.

The consultant will then be required to compile a CV according to our standard
De Nova template and will become part of our pool of available practitioners.
Joining our network involves two steps:
Step 2 - Get on a Client Engagement

This entails typical resourcing processes for client
engagements and may include selection interviews by the
client and consultant project manager/team leader,
agreement of the role, deliverables, rates, conditions,
etc. Once we have received the go-ahead from the
client, we will be able to compile an engagement
contract with the practitioner, who will then commence
with project activities.

  • We have a large network of experienced consultants: De Nova has an established network of experienced consultants, who have gained extensive experience
with both world class consulting firms and clients. Several of our directors and associates have played significant roles on world-class consulting engagements and have
worked on consulting engagements across the world, including America, Europe and Australia.

  • Quality: De Nova is committed to delivering high quality engagements. We believe that the only way to achieve sustainable results is by delivering high quality services -
    quality is therefore not negotiable.

  • Best of both worlds: We combine the benefits of large consulting house and working as an independent consultant. We can provide the network, expertise,
development opportunities and eminence that a larger consulting firm typically provides and yet are also able to combine this with the enhanced flexibility and higher
income opportunity of an independent consultant.

  • Network and expertise - Consultants have an entire network of experienced consultants at their disposal which can be draw on whilst working on engagements.
  • Development – As mentioned previously, we provide both on-the-job and development opportunities and formal training.
  • Eminence – Clients are more likely to purchase consulting services from a consulting firm rather than from an individual consultant, especially if the consulting firm has
a sound track record. By means of their association, individual consultants can benefit from the already established eminence of the consulting firm.
  • Flexibility – As a result of our consulting model, we are better able to accommodate consultants’ specific requirements than it would typically be the case for a
permanently employed consultant. Examples include travel requirements (in town vs. out of town) and working hours (full-time vs. part-time).
  • Income – Permanently employed consultants’ salaries only make up a fraction of the consulting fees that the clients pay. With our model, the largest share of the
consulting fee is channelled towards the consultants. Furthermore, consultants can also collect a commission for each consultant that they have successfully placed.
  • We have a large network of experienced consultants: De Nova
has an established network of experienced consultants, who have
gained extensive experience with both world class consulting firms and
clients. Several of our directors and associates have played significant
roles on world-class consulting engagements and have worked on
consulting engagements across the world, including America, Europe
    and Australia.

  • Quality: De Nova is committed to delivering high quality engagements.
We believe that the only way to achieve sustainable results is by
delivering high quality services - quality is therefore not negotiable.
Our approach will lead to a win-win situation in that the consultant will have a wider repertoire of client work to choose from and similarly
the clients will have a wider option of consultants and skills to choose from, thus leading to a better fit of what the consultants can offer
and the work they want to do, as well as the services and skills that the client requires.
